What little girl doesn’t dream of having the absolutely perfect fairytale wedding? From the time that women are little girls, they are blasted with media images of celebrity weddings. These weddings are little girls dreams come to life, with wall to wall flowers, carriages, exquisite wedding dresses and of course the night in shining armor, prince charming groom. With all of these glamorous images flashing before young girls eyes it is hard to imagine that very same thing being wished for by every woman.
Now it is often with the entire grand picture painted by celebrities and the media that women build their perfect vision of the most fantastic wedding that they can imagine. Every single detail from the color of the bridesmaid dresses to the honeymoon destination to what will be served for desert is thought and planned out again and again in the hopeful bride to be’s mind. This overwhelming need to experience the world’s perfect wedding can cause enormous amounts of stress and can turn any sweet bride to be into a nasty creature commonly referred to as a Bridezilla. When a Bridezilla rears her head any small amount stress will begin to radiate out to all those around them. These brides on the edge can for nothing except the plans involved with their wedding and everyone else around them should be just as wrapped up in making sure that this is the most perfect wedding ever. If something goes wrong during the planning of the wedding ceremony or reception a bride that is overly stressed is likely to be on her way to a huge meltdown.
The planning of any wedding no matter is it is a large or small occasion can be a hard task to handle. Most brides have to deal with a tight budget; family members whose opinions were best kept to themselves and timeline issues. Everyday things like taking care of children and going to a job can also add to an already stressful situation. Brides that are under too much stress can become completely irrational and cause things to be downright miserable for everyone around them. So to avoid stressful situations during wedding planning here are a few suggestions.
Cease and desist with going crazy over every last detail of your wedding and reception. There are too many brides to be that loose track of remembering that it is that ceremony and beginning to share their life with someone is what is important not what color the flowers were or if everyone was dressed absolutely perfect. Spending your wedding budget carefully is a smart way to lighten the load of wedding planning. Keep in mind that there are many things that you can take care of for your wedding without having to spend a ton of money if any at all.
Be open to compromise while planning your wedding. No one can take care of planning a wedding completely on their own and the bride is not only the one who has great ideas for the wedding. Be sure to include your soon to be spouse in the wedding plans to make sure that things he would like are able to be incorporated into the wedding ceremony.
Try letting go of some control of the planning. There are many details of planning a wedding ceremony and reception that can be well taken care of by others among your friends and family. When going over the details of the wedding be very firm with what both you and your groom want. Sit down and make a list of things that someone else could take care of for you and when that person agrees to help out then make sure to let them know how much their help means to you.
Organization is an excellent way to ward off stress during this time. Start a notebook of all of the ideas that you want for your wedding. Keep a calendar to make sure you have all your important wedding plans and meetings. This way you will always know what needs to be done and when it needs to be completed.
Get away and try to forget about the wedding craziness for a little while. Take a weekend at a bed and breakfast with your spouse. Book a weekend at the spa to be pampered with your friends. Taking the time to just relax will help you just melt the stress away.
Probably the greatest thing that you can do to relieve stress during the planning of your wedding is learning how to let go. Once you can do that then things will go much more smoothly for everyone.
